The Wily Network seeks to partner with public and private colleges in the greater Boston area to provide a support system for students without permanent families to succeed at four-year residential college programs. We are looking for colleges that are invested in the success of students from our local communities. Our goal is to help these young men and women to become active members of their college communities and to prepare for life beyond college.
Students will apply to and be accepted by the college or university using the traditional application process. Qualified students, those with documented independence from their families, would then apply to become Wily Scholars.
Dedicated staff at each college will work directly with students on campus to utilize outside resources through the Wily Network home office. The Wily Network will provide academic counseling and reinforcement; help students to develop and leverage personal networks and secure financial assistance; and ensure that they have year-round housing, food security, and health care commensurate to that of their college peers.
Each college, admitted student, and the Wily Network will sign an agreement as to the obligations of each party. This agreement would be tailored to each college.
