What We Ask of Volunteers
Most careers do not begin with an application. They begin with a conversation—more than 50% of professionals report that they landed their current job through a connection.
Wily’s Networking Expo’s three sessions are designed to help Scholars build those connections, along with the confidence and professional skills to support their success in any industry. Volunteers meet Scholars where they are and help them take one step forward.
Networking Guide
From Physics to Fiber Arts, Wily Scholars are pursuing careers in every industry. Networking Guides connect with students one on one to share their career journeys and answer questions about their field.
Conversation Circle Leader
Conversation Circle Leaders facilitate small group discussions focused on shared professional identity or interests. Topics may range from the future of AI in the workplace to what it means to be a first generation college student after graduation.
Skills Workshop Facilitator
Skills workshops focus on professional skill building. Volunteers support Scholars to build out Linkedin profiles, practice networking, learn how to navigate benefits, and more.
