Hello Wily Volunteers!
I’m so happy to have this chance to say a big thank you to all, and share how I see your work touching the lives of Wily Scholars! Giving the care packages, gifts and cards you help make happen is truly one of the most gratifying parts of my job!
As a coach, my work focuses on showing up emotionally for students, which means providing a steady presence and support for students to learn and grow through the ups and downs of college life.
When I get to share a gift from Wily Volunteers with Scholars, I get to speak a different “love language” for that moment— to simply offer a physical gift of some kind, from you, from us, from Wily. I get to be a messenger of care and kindness by delivering the gifts you take the time to select, purchase, organize, pack, transport, wrap, and write personalized notes for Scholars.
Best of all, I get to witness the delight on Scholars’ faces as they feel seen, appreciated, and cared for through receiving Wily gifts. As a coach, delivering your gifts distinguishes what sets Wily apart from other support services or organizations. It’s clear that receiving gifts touches Scholars in a way that complements our coaching work and enhances the personal, human touch that we strive to extend to Scholars.
