Don Bramley

Audax, Managing Director

Don Bramley is a Managing Director with Audax Group, a leading middle market private capital investment firm. Over the last 17 years, Don has played an integral role in building Audax’s private equity business, having been involved in nearly 200 transactions and having served as chairman or director of 39 of Audax’s portfolio companies. Prior to Audax, Don was a Partner with The Parthenon Group, a strategic advisory firm; was a Managing Director with Meredith, Martin & Kaye, an investment management company; and served in varying roles with FMC Corporation’s corporate development department and Salomon Brothers’ corporate finance department. Don received his B.A. from Middlebury College, where he majored in economics, and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Additionally, Don serves on the President’s Leadership Council at Middlebury College and previously served as a trustee of the Fessenden School in West Newton, Massachusetts, for five terms, including two terms as board President.

Katie Bramley

Board Co-Chair

Katie has spent the majority of her working career in the not-for-profit world. Currently, she serves on the Board of Ambassadors of the Steppingstone Foundation, which focuses on programs to prepare underserved students for educational success that leads to college. Additionally, Katie serves on Middlebury College’s President’s Leadership Council. Previously, Katie was on the Board of Directors for Boston Children’s Hospital Center for Media and Child Health, where she took a leadership role on the Strategic Planning Committee. She has also held numerous volunteer positions with the school systems and sports teams of her four children.

Tara Hendricks

Talla, VP of Finance and Operations

Tara is currently the VP of Finance & Operations at Talla Inc., a venture backed AI-driven startup in Boston. Tara has spent the past 20 years of her career focused on the financial and operational support of tech start-ups, with a 5-year period in the midst working at Blackbaud Inc., the leader ERP provider for non-profits. After meeting with Judi, Tara realized just how much overlap there is between start-ups and growing non-profits and is looking forward to bringing her experience to the team.

Tara is also the mother of a 20-year daughter who is currently studying social work at the University of Vermont. The amount of support, time and guidance Tara has given to her daughter in just the first few years of college has opened her eyes to the needs of those students that don’t have a support network, she is so excited to be apart of The Wily Network. Tara is a graduate of Susquehanna University with a degree in Sociology and when not working can usually be found on her family’s cattle farm in western MA where she is helping to produce high-quality grass-fed beef for local families and businesses.

 

Allison Hirsch

Board Treasurer

After spending nearly two decades working for an investment bank, Allison retired and turned her attention to non-profit organizations focusing on education and building stronger communities. Since 2014, Allison has consulted with Community Consulting Team for Boston Preparatory Charter School and EV Kids, which has deepened her understanding of the challenges for Boston students. She currently volunteers for Combined Jewish Philanthropy on the Strategic Planning and JLE Committees, as an MBA Advisory Board Member for Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, as an Investment Committee Member for Temple Israel Endowment, and as a Finance Committee Member for Jewish Big Brother Big Sister.

Allison became interested in how individual action could help children when she became a Big Sister in New York in the early 1990s. Spending time with her Little Sister, Angela, opened Allison’s eyes to the plight of inner-city children who have limited family support. Unfortunately,  that program did not include material support nor did it provide counseling. For Allison, among the strengths of the Wily Network program are its reliance on caring adults who guide and support the Scholars and its recognition that students need adequate resources to succeed in school.

Michael Julian

Board Clerk
Acquia, Account Executive

Michael has has spent over a decade in technology sales in business development in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Boston, at leading brands such as Oracle, Sprinklr, and most recently Acquia, the enterprise digital experience company. Michael is a graduate of Bowdoin College, where he double majored in American History and Africana Studies. He participated in theater, ran on the cross country and track teams, and produced and anchored the Bowdoin Cable Network sports television show. Michael grew up in rural Maine and now resides in Concord, Massachusetts, with his wife and daughter.

Judi Alperin King, PhD

Founder, Executive Director

After more than 30 years of working with children who struggle with serious emotional and behavioral problems, Judi feels the strongest connection to children whose families are not able to support them. Through her career at Wediko Children’s Services, as a clinician, administrator, program director, and development officer, her dedication to these children never wavered. Judi has an optimistic outlook and driven desire to help these young students. She tirelessly prepares for them, anticipates their needs, listens to their stressors, and champions their successes. In sum, she meets these young adults where they are and serves as their safety net through college graduation. Judi earned her B.A. and Master’s degree in Psychology at Hamilton College and Boston College, respectively. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Judi has three daughters and lives in Needham, Massachusetts, with her husband.

Zach Martin

St. Sebastian’s School, Football Coach

Zach recently retired from a career in the global equities business, having spent most of his time with Lehman Brothers and JP Morgan. Since retiring, Zach has become involved in non-profit endeavors. In addition to chairing the Governance Committee at the Wily Network, Zach is the Vice-Chair of the Carroll School Board and Chair of the Development Committee at the Brooks School. Zach coaches varsity football at St. Sebastian’s School. He was very active in Wellesley youth sports, coaching football, lacrosse and baseball. Zach graduated from Denison University. He played football and was active in student government and university radio. He and his wife, Laurel, have four children and live in Wellesley, MA.

Sara Miller

Drift; Conversational Sales Advisor

Sara is a Conversational Sales Advisor at Drift, the first conversational marketing platform, and a founding member of the Wily Network Board of Directors. She has worked to provide opportunities to underserved students in Greater Boston for the past 10 years. Sara graduated from Tufts University in 2012 with a political science degree, focusing on education policy. During college, she spent nine months studying in Washington, D.C., interning at the Department of Housing and Urban Development and working on political campaigns and policy writing, experiences that furthered her interest in policy relating to underserved communities. Sara is invested in the success of young people and the systemic supports needed to make success a reality. Immediately after graduation, Sara served two years volunteering full-time in Boston Public Schools with City Year Boston, an AmeriCorps program that aims to stem the high school dropout crisis by providing attendance, coursework, and social-emotional coaching to students. Her time serving in a 7th-grade classroom in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and her three years as a volunteer Big Sister illuminated for her the vast differences in resources and support that low-income students and communities receive compared to those in areas of greater wealth, as well as the different needs of students in these circumstances. She is a member of the Leadership Committee for City Year Boston’s Ambassador Circle and a volunteer Big Sister for Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Kim Pappas

Kim is a 1993 graduate of Lehigh University, where she received a degree in Accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant. After graduating, she worked at KPMG, Bell Atlantic, and Media One before leaving the workforce to raise her children. While a stay-at-home mom, she has held many volunteer positions in the schools of her three daughters. When Kim learned about the Wily Network, she was struck by the challenges the Scholars face, particularly when comparing their experiences to those of her own children. She is excited to help make a difference in the lives of Wily Scholars.

Sharisse Cail Perry

Cail Perry & Associates, Founder and President

Sharisse is the founder and president of Cail Perry & Associates, a legal search firm that specializes in placing attorneys of color and women attorneys in law firms and corporations. She graduated from Brandeis University with a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies. She volunteers at her children’s school, Dedham Country Day School, where she currently serves as the Parent Association President and is a member of the Board of Trustees. Recognizing the need for support among parents and children of color in independent schools, Sharisse founded The Massachusetts Network for Children of Color in Independent Schools (MNCCIS). She is a would-be writer and an avid reader who never leaves the house without a book.

Judi Rosensweig

Judi was a Program Advisor at Lesley University, working with Master Degree students undertaking multidisciplinary independent study programs, before leaving the workforce to raiser her children. As part of this journey, she and her family lived overseas in London and Hong Kong for 9 years. For morst of her adult life, she has been involved in Philantropic work. Since returning to the US in 2014, Judi has become increasingly engaged in philanthropic work for organizations whose missions she finds personally menaingful. In addition to the Wily Network, she works with other organizations on Advancement Development Committees, co-chairing fundraising events, and volunteering at community events. Judi has a BS in Human Services and Counseling and completed graduate work in Counseling.

Andrew Rudzinski

Boston Scientific, Principal Tax Analyst

Andy is a Principal Tax Analyst at Boston Scientific.  Since receiving his B.A. in Accounting from Assumption College in 2009, Andy has pursued a career as a corporate tax professional in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.  When Andy connected with Judi and the Wily Network, he couldn’t resist the opportunity to donate his accounting skills behind the scenes in service to the Wily Scholars.  Andy is currently pursuing a Masters of Taxation at Villanova University and living in Shrewsbury, MA, with his wife, Stephanie, and daughter, Audrey.

Deb Salvucci

Stonehill College; Dean of Meehan School of Business

Deb is the founding dean of the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College.  She joined the Stonehill faculty as an accounting professor after working as an auditor at PwC and as a Vice President in charge of Internal Audit at Boston Financial Data Services, Inc.  Deb served as the Director of Stonehill’s Accounting Program and Chair of the Business Administration Department (having led the effort to earn initial AACSB accreditation) before becoming Dean.  She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Massachusetts, with an undergraduate accounting degree from Boston College, a master’s degree in taxation from Bentley University, and a certificate in higher education administration from Boston College.  Deb was named the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s Outstanding Educator of the Year in 2011.

Jennifer Schoen

Northeastern University, Director of Opportunity Scholarships and Outreach Programs

Jennifer has been working in higher education for more than 25 years, at colleges and universities on both coasts. She has a BA in English and Political Science from Muhlenberg College and an M.Ed in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont. She has used her experiences in admissions, orientation, residence life, student activities, and career development to help first-generation college-bound students through the challenges of the college admissions process and to navigate the universities they attend. One of her proudest moments is founding the Champions Program for youth and alumni of foster care at the University of Washington. In her spare time, Jennifer is working on her doctoral degree, trying to get on her bicycle as often as possible, and learning how to podcast. She lives in Dedham with her wife and two dogs.

Mike Virginio

Babson Board Fellow
Wayfair, Manager of Corporate Security

Mike is currently Manager of Corporate Security at Wayfair. His team secures the IT infrastructure and systems for all global corporate offices, warehouses, call centers, as well as the retail store location. Mike joined the Wily Network through the Babson Board Fellow program, which places Babson MBA students and alumni with nonprofit boards. He has enjoyed working with other nonprofits that emphasize education, such as YearUp and City Year. Mike earned his B.S. in Security and Risk Analysis from the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Pennsylvania State University and his MBA from the Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College.

Leann Walsh

Board Co-Chair
K&L Gates, Senior Associate Attorney

Leann is currently a Senior Associate Attorney of Labor, Employment, & Workplace Safety at K&L Gates. Leann’s legal practice focuses on litigation, investigations, transactional assistance, and counseling for clients on employment issues. Leann is passionate about the Wily Network’s mission. Her parents dedicated their careers to their local Florida community college and emphasized throughout her upbringing the importance of making higher education available to all students. Leann earned a BA in economics and political science from the University of Florida and received her law degree from Boston College Law School. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Raleigh.

Richard Zhang

Eduporium, Operations Manager

A founding member of the Wily Network Board of Directors, Rich joined Wily through Babson’s career services office as an intern after hearing Judi’s vision for the organization. Although Rich did not go through the foster care system himself, he is able to relate to some of the difficulties that foster students face through his own experiences growing up. He jumped on board with Wily to help make a difference in the lives of these students. Rich is currently Operations Manager at Eduporium, an online reseller of innovative educational technologies for STEM, STEAM, and maker education. On the side, Rich has been a college prep coach for the past 10+ years through his company, RZ Tutor, and has worked with hundreds of students on improving their standardized testing and college applications. Rich has a BS in Business Administration from Boston University’s Questrom School of Management and a MBA from Babson College F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business.
