Wily Graduation 2025

It’s Wily Graduation season!

It’s Wily graduation season! Graduating Wily Scholars were invited to the Wily graduation dinner in April. Sixteen Scholars attended the event, all receiving beautifully personalized graduation gift boxes prepared by Wily volunteers.

Special thanks to a local non-profit partner, Give a Cake for donating a beautiful Wily graduation cake!

During the dinner, Scholars heard from guest speaker Dr. Anthony Abraham Jack, author of Class Dismissed. Dr. Tony Jack (Ph.D., Harvard University, 2016) is the Inaugural Faculty Director of the Boston University Newbury Center and Associate Professor of Higher Education Leadership at Boston University.

Dr. Jack spoke to Wily Scholars about the importance of self-advocacy, asking for help, and challenging institutional norms to support underrepresented students. We are so grateful to Dr. Jack for taking the time to speak, motivate, and inspire the Wily Pack!

In addition to Dr. Jack, Wily Alum Theresa spoke to Scholars and delivered a heartfelt encouragement for life after graduation:

“Chase the life you want to live, even when you question if the chase is leading anywhere, because it is, even if it’s not the place you expected. … Remember that this community is one you will always be a part of, no matter the time or distance that separates you from it.”

- Theresa, Wily Alum '23

Graduation is an important step for Wily Scholars but it isn’t the end of the journey. At Wily, our support for Scholars continues even after they walk across the stage. For three months post-graduation, our dedicated coaches stay connected with alums to help ease the transition into life beyond college. Thanks to our generous in-kind donors, we also send care packages with essentials and gift cards to help recent grads start their next chapter strong. This year’s care packages were provided by Audax.
